Hello everyone, it\’s been crazy trying to finish this article, I\’ve had so much to do and haven\’t been able to fully concentrate on it, I honestly don\’t know if it has been some sort of spiritual battle or what, but it has been months to put this together even though I\’ve had all the information all along, but I think it may have been that it just wasn\’t supposed to be posted until now, but anyways, let\’s get into it, since there\’s a lot of info to go through.

I want to start by saying that I\’ve been reading a lot and seeing many signs fulfilling, that lead me to believe that the second seal may be opening soon, which is war, it seems like the powers that be are trying to push Iran\’s button to make either them or China respond using Nuclear power, which would give them the perfect excuse to begin bombing and doing the rest of the killing, according to some sources, ceasing the fire not too long after, which may be by signing a treaty, some believe Israel might try something against Iran this month, or the other way around, I guess we shall see as well as pray for our brothers and sisters around the world.

 

Peace Prize for Barack Obama

Ok so let\’s begin with some old news by now that add a lot to the past articles on Obama being the World Leader figure, not necessarily the Antichrist expected by Chrisitians, as explained in the article \”Barack Obama: the Antichrist?\”, for example getting the peace prize, making him in a way a \”king of peace\” even though he hasn\’t done a single thing to deserve the title, as he himself said it during his acceptance speech, instead decided to send more and more troops to war and has done many more things that shall be discussed along this article. It is obvious that the prize was given to him for whatever they have planned for him to take credit for at some point during his time \”running\” things, however just the fact of him getting the prize next to everything he had fulfilled already, is amazing, he has been made the image of peace to the eyes of the world, not only the United States, and the Bible warns us about this very thing when talking about the World Leader.

Daniel 8:25
25And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

 

The World Leader, who will bring the war of the Second Seal, shall magnify himself in his heart and by peace will destroy many.

21And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

 

Barack Obama has magnify himself in his heart, you can see it by simply looking at his eyes and listening to his words, he is coming supposedly in peace and even though he doesn\’t deserve the honors he holds at the moment, they were all given to him by his smooth way of talking or because of it.

Something else to notice relating Barack Obama getting the Peace Prize is the Blue Light that was welcoming him into norway on the night he was there to receive it.

 

Benjamin Creme, who is basically the publicist of Maytreya, an antichrist who many believe may be THE Antichrist, said that the light everyone saw and reported in Norway, was the star of Maytreya just as the star that told the wise men of the birth of the Messiah, star which he has been speaking of for quite some time and which has been supposedly seen and photographed in other times, in different parts of the world, yet many believe this particular event in Norway was caused by the use of H.A.A.R.P technology, of which I\’ll be talking more about in a future article, since sadly it may also be related to the Haiti earthquake, the one in Chile and Japan and who knows maybe the most recent ones in Mexico and China.

 

Peace in the Middle East

One thing that Obama might receive some credit for, yet I don\’t think the main one, would be getting some peace in the Middle East, since the deal could be done any time now

In December 21 2009 reports were:

After returning from Cairo, the Prime Minister of Israel, Binyamin Netanyahu told a Likud Central Committee gathering, that \”It is time to move the peace process forward.\” Netanyahu also stated:

I wish to make a small but rather important parenthesis in the article, to point out something that I see as an amusing irony from the Father Almighty, for the world as a witness to the nations. I am referring to the fact that the last name of the Prime Minister of Israel during the end times(NOW) is \”Netanyahu\”, and it happens to be written and pronounced correctly by everyone in the world, when in fact, part of it, is the same exact portion that the people of the world are refusing, for different reasons, to pronounce correctly in the name of the Son of Yahweh, which is the second part, that is pronounced Yahu in NetanYahu, just as well in the Name of he who came in the Name of the Father Yahweh, who was a Yahuthi, YahuShua, but the world decides to call him by corrupted \”versions\”, like Yehoshua as found in the Strong\’s concordance, Yeshua as Jews and some Christians call him, Yahshua, Joshua, and of course the most corrupted one and known by the World(James 4:4), Jesus, all being different perVersions of the Word of Truth!, which actually is exactly what \”using the name in vain\” means, lifting the Pure and Awesome Name to turn it into falseness, into vanity, an illusion, the Name of the Father Yahweh and that of the Son Yahushua, the Oath we must confess(Rom 10:9-10), which he confirmed through his blood. Yahu-shua, means, Yawheh(He who causes to exist), delivers, saves, enriches, et cetera, meaning which people don\’t have a problem with, by calling Yehoshua, Yeshua, Yahshua,Joshua, the problem the nowadays pharasees have, is apparently with the Father(Yahu), not with the riches he gives and promises(Shua). Ok that was something I\’ve been thinking for a while and that I needed to get out of my chest lol, but now going back to the peace treaty, in January 2nd, Jordan\’s King Abdullah told Obama to speed up Mideast peace drive by intensifying efforts for achieving progress towards a two-state solution.(Source:Haaretz)

Then in March 13, the European Union was calling to resume peace talks immediately.

\”Until now, it\’s not too late, but if we wait for more than two years it will be too late,\” Spain\’s Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos said, warning that there would be no more land left to negotiate and that it would be extremely difficult to fix borders between Israel and a Palestinian state.(Source: EUBusiness)

Also Spain got in the mix, on April 9, asking Israel to foster peace talks by taking the \”necessary steps\” to begin a dialogue with the Palestinians as soon as possible, even as Lebanon warned of an \”implosion\” in the Middle East if a new peace process fails.

Lebanese Premier Saad Hariri warned that \”time pressure\” exists in the matter, and insisted that \”another failure will be unacceptable\” at a joint press conference with the Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.(Source: Siasat)

On April 12, 2010, President Barack Obama met with Jordan\’s King Abdullah, where both leaders urged the Israelis and Palestinians to begin peace negotiations. During these discussions, both agreed that Israeli-Palestinian proximity talks should begin as soon as possible, and transition quickly to direct negotiations. Abdullah also said that the White House has reportedly urged the Obama administration to devise its own peace proposal to submit to the Israelis and Palestinians.(Source: MonsterSand)

I think this could be a big deal since if this is the case, it would mean that the actual treaty manufactured by the world leader is the one which would be signed or confirmed, making the prophecy even more literal.

April 14th, Israeli President Shimon Peres called for stalled negotiations with Palestinians to be \”urgently\” relaunched, on the first day of an official visit to Paris.

\”A year has already gone by and it \’s already late. The negotiations have to be urgently taken up again and we can get to a compromise,\” Peres said after a meeting with French Prime Minister Francois Fillon.(Source: Youro)

Even China is stepping in to call for the peace talks to restart, on April 15th, China voiced its hope to see an early resumption of the peace talks between Palestine and Israel, saying that the political talks are the only right way to solve the Middle East issue.

On April 24, 2010 Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas called on President Barack Obama to impose a Mideast peace deal, reflecting growing frustration with what Palestinians see as Washington\’s failure to wrangle concessions out of Israel\’s hardline government. In an unusually blunt appeal, Abbas said that if Obama believes Palestinian statehood is a vital U.S. interest, then the American leader must take forceful steps to bring it about.

\”Since you, Mr. President and you, the members of the American administration, believe in this, it is your duty to call for the steps in order to reach the solution and impose the solution — impose it,\” Abbas said in a speech to leaders of his Fatah movement.

\”But don\’t tell me it\’s a vital national strategic American interest … and then not do anything,\” he added.

Interestingly enough Jordan\’s King Abdullah is asking Obama\’s administration to come up with a plan for the Middle East peace treaty to be accepted, remember like I have pointed out in past articles, the verse in Daniel 9 talking of a covenant that the World Leader will confirm…

27And he shall confirm(H1396) the covenant(H1285) with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

 

The identity of the Antichrist will remain secret until they reveal the Abomination of desolation, but by then it\’ll be too late for anybody to be saved from the wrath, since by this time, the Favor(grace), which is being saved by faith, would be taken off the world, since the world chose the lie aka Abomination of Desolation.

The Bible says he will confirm(H1396) an agreement(H1285), which in a way seems to be pretty much confirmed already by all parties who are only waiting on a signature.

The question I\’ve had in my mind lately is, if this peace treaty in the middle east all Christian doctrines say should happen, for the last seven years of time to begin, is actually the covenant that he will confirm.

For a clearer or deeper insight on the verse of Daniel, lets look at the full meaning of the words in Hebrew according to the Strong\’s Concordance:

In other words, \”he shall act proudly and prevail in an alliance or pledge, with many, for seven years\”. Could this have happened when Barack Obama was chosen and ultimately put in place as President of The United States by the Illuminati to become the World Leader Figure, or as mentioned in the past article, when he met with the Pope, maybe making an alliance with them, during the time he said he would finish his work, mocking the creation story in the Bible.

Remember Obama\’s campaign logo was the Sun rising, which that alone has a lot of occult meaning, then he said that he was going to finish his work on a certain day which ended up being the same he met with the Pope, there were not a lot of details on what really happen during the meeting, but what is interesting is that the meeting took place in the afternoon and all papal audiences usually happen in the morning which means it happen when the Sun was setting, giving special importance to the meeting since he began his work with the sun rising(logo) and said would finish his work on the day he met with the Pope, right while the sun was setting. Not only that but also there is a lot of symbolism in the fact that normally world leaders go to the Pope, instead of the Pope having to go across Rome to meet them, since the number of steps he goes from his study door is taken as a sign of his esteem towards the person he is greeting, so imagine that, the Pope, who according to himself is the presence of god on earth, has that much esteem for Barack Obama, maybe 666 feet of esteem lol, anyways one has to wonder.

There are many more things I\’d like to say here, but I\’ll just put this out there, this meeting could have had a very important meaning in Bible Prophecy since it would have been basically the First Beast personified in Obama, going to meet with the Second Beast which is the False prophet and most people already agree on the fact that it is the Pope, to make a deal to work together to bring about the coming of the \”Abomination of Desolation\”, talked about in the book of Daniel, which is the actual awaited \”Antichrist\”; an image(body), with the spirit of Lucifer, claiming to be \”god\” in the flesh(image), hence claiming to be god in the Temple(body), just as Yahushua is the Temple of Yahweh. Is also important to notice that \”the many\” mentioned in Daniel 9:27, could be the christians led by the Pope, since these are refer to as \”the many\” in a lot of verses of the Scriptures when talking of the end times, being two portions entering the Kingdom, the many(Christians) and the Few(144.000), but this can be a whole other article so I\’ll leave it here for now.

I understand Israel is the clock for Bible prophecy as many prophecy scholars would say, but that verse and chapter does not say anything about that treaty having to do with peace between Israel and Palestine. I guess is easy to speculate since people also are expecting the Third temple to be physically build for the Antichrist to go in and claim to be g-d so that the end can come, forgetting that when Yahuwshua came the first time, he explained that the body is the temple of Yahweh.

People must understand that when Yahushua came, he did it to give us the Spirit of Truth, so that people could finally interpret the Bible Spiritually and therefore know the Truth, instead of going with doctrines of demons(1 Timothy 4:1) created to fool the church as fooled as Jews were when Yahushua came the first time and nobody recognized him because they were expecting physical fulfillments of the prophecies given in the past by the prophets, not to mentioned the mixup they had between the first and second coming. With that said, just imagine for a moment, if they were to use all their special technology to clone the man seen in the shroud of Turin, as many already believe has happened and is even supported by a book, using the blond found in it, being that an IMAGE, created by an \”alliance\” of the First Beast(World Leader) with the Second Beast(False Prophet) as said in Revelation 13, becoming inanimate by the spirit that makes Desolate, forming the Abomination(Image/Idol) of Desolation(Destruction), by spiritually entering the temple of Yahweh, claiming to be the Messiah, therefore claiming to be god in the flesh i.e. God in the Temple, as Yahushua did and proved. There would be no real necessity for a physical temple and many other things to happen in the natural, for the prophecies to really be fulfilled and the common view works perfect for Satan, to keep everyone waiting for Illuminati to fulfill the prophecies physically and deceive \”the many\”, as it is also prophesied, then it would also be fulfilled what it was said about the day of the Son of Man, when he would come as a thief in the Night.

 

When they say Peace and Safety

The Bible speaks of these current times clearly and I believe we are living now in the times for most of the Seals of the Apocalypse to be opened, and this is revealed by what the second seal will bring upon the earth, which I get more in depth in the article \”The Seals of the Apocalypse\”, but as mentioned before, is mainly war and this is supported or confirmed in the letter to the Thessalonians saying.

1 Thessalonians 5:3
For when they say, \”Peace and safety(G803)!\” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.

 

This doesn\’t necessarily mean that the world will be living in peace for a while and then the destruction will come all of the sudden, as most doctrines describe, but instead we can see that the verse says \”when they say\”, meaning when they are all speaking of peace and safety, then sudden destruction will fall upon them. Paul was writing this, for us to keep our ears open instead of just our eyes, waiting for destruction.

In the strong\’s dictionary we can see the full meaning of the word used in the original Greek text of the \”New Testament\” and in this way make the connection to today\’s events.

World Police

This is something which the latest presidents of the United States have been working hard for but that Obama seems to be finally accomplishing, becoming the World\’s Police, dictating what\’s wrong and what\’s good in the world, forcing their will on other countries with different cultures around the world, in the name of peace and security, trying to bring an Order through the Chaos they promote and cause, like the slogan of the Freemasons, \”Ordo ab Chao\”.

Here we have the new slogan of the US Navy to Illustrate my point, which used to be \”Accelerate Your Life\” and has not long ago been changed to \”A Global force for good\”

My question then is, since when did their business become a \”Global\” one?

If war does brake out after somebody using Nuclear Weapons, the World Police(USA) would be \”forced\” to bring order, safety and peace, all by force of course, to the world from the possible World War III.

Will Barack Obama confirm a treaty with the world to stop the possible coming war quickly?

Was President Barack Obama given the Nobel Peace Prize for his agenda to bring \”Peace and Security\” to the world in this matter?

Taking it up a notch and taking in account an existent alien connection and everything that has been going on leading many to believe that the day for disclosure on this subject is getting closer and closer, was he given the Peace Prize because is he who they have selected to disclose all the information on extraterrestrials and then move on to a search for peace in the Universe as an excuse to bring a One World Order once and for all, through the coming Third World War or a threat of an Alien invasion, like many expect, having the need of unification to either fight or accept an alien race?

 

Shape a New International Order

In the new US national security strategy, Obama is taking the World Police title a bit further, by pledging to shape a new \’\'international order\’\’. Speaking to the graduating class at the US Military Academy at West Point, he expressed his faith in co-operation and partnerships to confront economic, military and environmental challenges.

\’\'The international order we seek is one that can resolve the challenges of our times,\’\’ Obama said.

So basically Mr Barack Obama wants the USA to lead the New World Order, meaning him being the leader of it, therefore finally becoming the actual World Leader.

The UN and Interpol in the USA

Barack Obama not long ago signed an Executive Order giving express permission for Interpol to supersede the laws and police authorities of the USA, meaning he is allowing an international police authority to overrule the US government, giving all the hints of Martial Law, obviously expecting civil unrest because of all their forced policies and laws on the people. Let\’s not forget that Martial Law does not necessarily mean the occupation of the US Army in civil areas, but instead the dismissal of human rights, being processed by the martial court system and not by the civil one we are used to, meaning you no longer are innocent till proven guilty but instead guilty until proven innocent,

The Illuminati through Obama wants the people to act violently towards the government instead of peacefully wise so that they can be violent back with the forces of the UN and Interpol, if their own soldiers refuse to act against their own people, those who they were supposed to defend to begin with, so that they can finally make use of all the FEMA camps that are all over the United States waiting to be filled with people who don\’t agree with their terms and laws. Another strategy being used, is to send all the troops possible overseas, so that if Revolution or anything brakes lose, the government will need and use the help of the UN troops, Interpol and the civil army, since all US troops would be abroad.

 

Martial Law

The Illuminati is making Obama go through with the last stages in their plan for a New World Order, even if it means getting the people of the United States to revolt so that he can apply Martial Law, for which they are completely ready. Barack Obama signed another executive order which sets up the framework for the use of federal troops and the combination of state and federal agencies under the Defense Department.

The bipartisan Council will be composed of Ten State Governors who will be selected by the President to serve two year terms. In selecting the Governors to the Council, the White House will solicit input from Governors and Governors\’ associations. Health Care Bill

This Health Care bill which Obama was so eager to pass since last year is bad news for the United States and even for the world since it would have repercussions on all, the bill has a lot of what Hitler was bringing with his Nazi regime and the greatest contradiction here of course created by the powers that be, is that since it is a black man the one doing it, nobody would expect anything like it, but people forget he is just a puppet and really at the end, this is not about black or white, but money, power and control over all \”races\”, is about the sons of the darkness trying to exterminate the Sons of the Light and control the Lukewarm.

The truth is that the so called \”health care\” bill is not a health care bill, it has nothing to do with caring for the health but instead is all about total government takeover, people must investigate on this and go and read the small print in the bill, this is about euthanasia, electronic identification, which you know ultimately will lead to the mark of the Beast, is about control of every area of life and even has to do with gun confiscation, because they want you helpless when it all brakes out.

Is Obama a Muslim?

I want to start this portion by saying that I have nothing against Muslim People, my problem is against the teachings in the Quran distorting the truth, like saying that Yahuwshua the Son of the Most High, was just a prophet, not THE Son, and many, many other things of this sort, when the Bible clearly states that whosoever denies the Son, denies the Father and that is the spirit of Antichrist(1 John 2:22-23), so just for this one teaching the religion falls in the category of Anti-christian.

The reason why it is important to know if Barack Obama is a Muslim, or even posing to the Muslin world as one of them, is because it could be a great deal, fulfilling some of the prophecies about the World Leader aka First Beast. The Illuminati uses religion to help further their agenda by manipulating the minds of the people and I believe the fact of bringing a Muslim man and give him the Presidency of the United States, in this specific time is going to be used for exactly what they want.

I know publicly he has stated to be Christian, but really who would believe that after the way he has expressed his thoughts on the Bible and the fact of covering some symbols of Jesus in a Church where he went to speak at, which really means nothing to me or the Father since it\’s all idolatry at the end, but the point is that it does matter to the masses and that causes a reaction. This shows a whole different picture, not only that, but once you look at his background, everything points out to him being actually a Muslim, like the fact of his Dad being a Muslim, then living in a Muslim country(Indonesia), being in a Muslim school, registered in paper as \”Muslim\” and remembered by many people as a devoted one.

Obama said he was not a Muslim in campaign everywhere he went, he said he never practiced Islam, yet his Autobiography paints a different picture, among other things, the way he talks about how he was a follower of Malcolm X, a strong and influential Black Leader, yet a Muslim. Let\’s not forget either that in the Muslim religion as well as in the \”reloaded\” Jewish religion, following the Talmud, they can lie about their beliefs and background if is necessary to get what they want to accomplish for their god.

According to the Qur\’an, Allah is \’the best of deceivers\’(Qur\’an 3.54), and since the highest goal of Islamic ethics is to spread Islam by any means whatsoever, it is hardly surprising that lying and deceit should be quite acceptable if carried out for the benefit of Islam.

Qur\’an 16:106, establishes that there are circumstances that can \”compel\” a Muslim to tell a lie.

Qur\’an 3:28, tells Muslims not to take those outside the faith as friends, unless it is to \”guard themselves.\”

Qur\’an 9:3 \”…Allah and His Messenger are free from liability to the idolaters…\” They can brake oaths with anybody outside their \”faith\”.

In Qur\’an 40:28, a man is introduced as a believer, but one who must \”hide his faith\” among those who are not believers.

Qur\’an 2:225 states that \”Allah will not call you to account for thoughtlessness in your oaths, but for the intention in your hearts\”, then again in Qur\’an 66:2 it says that \”Allah has already ordained for you, (O men), the dissolution of your oaths\”. Then the Bible tells us not make any oaths, \”let our yes be yes and our nay be nay.\”

Lastly, as mentioned above, in Qur\’an 3:54 we find that Allah is the best of deceivers when it says \”And they(the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed(against them): and Allah is the best of schemers.\” The Arabic word used here for scheme(or plot) is \”maker\”, which literally means deceit. If Allah is deceitful toward unbelievers, then there is little basis for denying that Muslims are allowed to do the same.

Taken collectively these verses are interpreted to mean that there are circumstances when a Muslim may be \”compelled\” to deceive others for a greater purpose, that purpose being the will of Allah, the best of deceivers, a title quite suitable for the god of darkness Satan. That\’s it, is not a big deal for Obama neither any Muslim to lie about their faith in order to get \”the unbelievers\” to do what they want.

Another book used buy Muslims is The Hadith, which is composed by many narrations which find its origins in what the Islamic prophet Muhammad said and did, these are regarded by most muslims as important tools for understanding the Qur\’an, in there we also find verses leading us to the same conclusion as above in the Qur\’an.

Lying is permitted when the end justifies the means.

In Bukhari 84:64-65, speaking from a position of power at the time, Ali confirms that lying is permissible in order to deceive an \”enemy.\”

And then to touch up on what I mentioned earlier, the new form of Judaism of these end times, mentioned in the Book of Revelations 3, following the Talmud, are also of the same type of beliefs and taking it even a bit further in their wording.

Back to Obama being a Muslim, another detail I\’d like to point out is the fact that his name was for some time Barry Soetoro but later he changed it to Barack Hussein Obama, because of the name of his real father and most likely because of it\’s Islamic roots, also very importantly being the last name Hussein, one which the Muslim people should recognize and be expecting as we\’ll see further ahead in the article.

Obama Jnr later attended Model Primary School, Menteng and was registered as a Muslim – as his father was a Muslim as well.

By Obama being a Muslim he is going to bring destruction through a revolution in the United States and he is not going to care much about the country nor the people, instead he is going to love doing it, since to most Muslims, \”America\” is the Dajall, their \”Devil Nation\”, this is the reason why it was \”smart\” of the Illuminati to put him in place as President of the United States in such a key moment in their plan, since he doesn\’t really care about the United States and its people as a Democratic Nation of Peace, in case of a revolution by the citizens he would not hesitate to take control back \”by any means necessary\”, for the needs of those writing his checks and taking care of his public relations and as many know, one of their coming goals is to bring the US down to begin their establishment of a New World Order.

Obama would also try to help the Palestinians in the middle east peace treaty, since as we\’ve seen he is not very close to Benjamin Netanyahu, so he may end up making war against Israel in the name of the Muslim world. At the end, all for Zionist purposes of course, since Obama can believe whatever he wants, he is still working in the grid under many people with different interests than exactly the Muslim Religion, just as when many of the first time Masons come into the temples for the first degrees thinking they are Christians or Muslims, depending on where the Masonic Lodge is Located, until they reach about the 32nd Degree and realized they had been following and worshiping Lucifer all along. 5) Verbal Defusing:

What you respond to the sociopath has to be non-threatening or challenging.  You need to give and take as much information as you can in order to get him thinking and let your strategy come into play.  You also have to defuse the situation by using verbal tactics; this will allow you to assume control without making the sociopath aware of your intentions.

When speaking of self-defense in the martial arts, most people often associate the act to a physical one. This is a common and widespread misconception, for self-defense is not only a physical act but a psychological and emotional one as well. Since self-defense is sixty percent psychological, twenty five percent emotional and only fifteen percent physical, it is needless to say that verbal defusing in confrontation plays an imperative role in the ability to defend one\’s self.

Unfortunately, many, for various reasons, ignore the psychological aspect of fighting.  Ignorance, emotional variables and self-destructive behaviors such as ego, pride and machismo are usually the dominant reasons why people very often get involved in many unnecessary physical fights. Consequently, they neglect or at least forget all about their moral and social responsibilities.

By moral responsibility, I mean the obligation one has to all those who surround their life and care about them such as friends and family. By social responsibility I mean the obligation one has as a human being to respect another so as to live in a safe and collective environment.

* The world in which we live in is a world intoxicated with verbal pollution; we like to equate it to social anorexia. Whether we notice it or not, our language environment is filled with verbal abuse. Suzette Haden Elgin, leading expert on overcoming verbal abuse and author of The Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense, explains in her book that verbal abuse rarely takes the form of one person yelling curses, obscenities or threats to another. That is only our common understanding of it. As a matter of fact, verbal abuse is more subtle and wide spread then we think or realize. It can take form in the tone of voice your spouse uses in response to a question, or a co-worker\’s choice of words in the office. Nothing is trivial in verbal abuse. In the long run, it can cause ulcers, heart attacks, misery, chronic fatigue, migraine headaches, etc. I can go on and on.

Hence, the ideal would be to engage in what Haden Elgin calls a  \”syntonic conversation.\” The term \”syntonic\” is often found in psychology or ancient music theory. When 2 radio sets are so well in tuned with respect to one another that they can be used to transmit information effectively and efficiently, they are said to be syntonic.

The difficulty in attaining a syntonic conversation is that in every discussion (not ‘conversation\’) we engage ourselves in, whether we are conscious of it or not, there is a constant ‘struggle for power\’ as James Redfield clearly explains in his fourth chapter of The Celestine Prophecy. 

Indeed, when two individuals are having a discussion, one of two things can happen: the individual can come away feeling strong or feeling weak depending on what was said in the interaction. Humans are always in search of energy so, to prevail in a discussion, we feel the urge to steal it from another. Once we are successful in convincing our point of view, we receive what Redfield calls a \”psychological boost.\” Consequently, whether we know it or not, our ego and self esteem are fed at the cost of stealing someone else\’s energy, thus making someone else feel weaker.

There are four basic principles offered by Haden Elgin to avoid verbal aggression:

1) KNOW THAT YOU ARE UNDER ATTACK.                                                                      

Most of the times we don\’t know that we are being verbally attacked. Verbal abuse, as said earlier, is not always someone yelling threats or curses. Since communication is sixty percent body language, twenty percent tone of voice and only ten percent the actual words used in an interaction, verbal abuse can be cleverly masked when the attacker shows no physical signs of aggression and regulates his tone of voice.

So how do you know when you are being verbally abused? Trust your intuition. As Gavin De Becker says in The Gift of Fear, \”intuition is a brilliant internal guardian that stands ready to warn you of hazards and guide you through risky situation\”. Verbal abuse, properly defined, is very simply language that hurts, causes harm and/or disease. Therefore, when you feel that you are being verbally aggressed, chances are, you probably are.

2) KNOW WHAT KIND OF ATTACK YOU ARE FACING.

Doctor Virginia Satire is a world-renowned family therapist who specializes in the language of people under stress. She came up with five categories of verbal conflict, aggression and passiveness that we will take a look at so as to know what kind of psychological profile we are facing when we are verbally abused or challenged.

BLAMING: Blamers often use threatening language and use words like \”every\”, \”all\”, \”always\”, \”anybody\” and love to finger point. Their body language matches their words. They sound something like this: \”Don\’t you ever listen to anyone?\” \”I told you to put the files in the other case, but you always have to do things your way.\”

Blamers generally feel the need to control and manipulate behavior to their advantage, they like to feel in control of the situation and be the ones to dictate the turn of events.  If things aren\’t done their way or to their liking, that is when they will use verbal tactics to gain back their advantage such as the ones mentioned above. For example, \”Don\’t you ever listen to anyone\” states to the receiver that they are stubborn, non-cooperative and generally mistaken.  This as a result, will begin to eat away at their self-confidence, create insecurity and in turn make them defensive towards not only blamers but unfortunately any general constructive criticism as well.

PLACATING: Those who placate use words and body language that express a desire to please. They seem agreeable but deep down they are terrified that people will get angry at what they would really like to say. They fear being judged and labeled.  They often use expressions like \”I don\’t care\” \”It\’s fine with me\”. For example: \”If you guys want we\’ll spend New Year\’s at my place or if you want we\’ll all go to John\’s.  Whatever you want is fine with me. I don\’t really care\” 

Placatory people are highly insecure individuals who fear being judged for having a mind of their own.  They worry they might not be as well liked and that maybe they\’ll lose their friends because they have different tastes or ideas.  This is not so much a verbal attack or assault, but in the long run will cause conflict due to the complacency of these individuals behavior\’s.

COMPUTING or as we like to call them ANDROIDS: A computer or Android\’s body language is close to no body language. They speak in generalities and abstractions. They give the impression they have no feelings or emotional content. They don\’t use the words \”I\” or \”you\”. For example: \”There is undoubtedly a good reason for this shortfall, no reasonable person would be upset about it.\”  They also use terms like \”Affirmative\” or \”Negative\” for agreement or disagreement.

DISTRACTING: Distracters cycle rapidly through the other modes, switching body language as they go along. The impression they give is one of total disorganization and panic. You get a sentence of placating, another sentence of blaming, than a line or two of computing. Distracters sound something like this: \”What is the matter with you people anyway? I mean, not that I care, come on you know me, I could put up with anything.\”

Or \”However, common sense would seem to dictate that no rules be changed in the middle of the game, and I\’m sick and tired of this kind of garbage.\”

These emotional roller coasters are in a \”mind, spirit\” state of confusion.  They say something that elicits a response they are not prepared to handle then quickly try to rectify the situation by adding something else.  Their aim is to get their point across without hurting anyone\’s feelings but if they are not being understood they will aggressively pursue their point.

LEVELING: Leveling can be recognized by the absence of the language behavior associated with the other four Satire modes. The leveler\’s words and the leveler\’s body language are in complete harmony with the leveler\’s inner feelings. Leveling is just the simple truth, as the leveler perceives it. The leveler is self-syntonic: \”Listen I\’ll be frank with you, I don\’t like you so stop trying to be so nice cause it won\’t get you anywhere.\”

The leveler is blunt and doesn\’t care who he may hurt in the process.  He\’s definitely not a hypocrite but his words may certainly offend.

3) KNOW HOW TO MAKE YOUR DEFENSE FIT THE ATTACK

No matter what you do, do not match together the same modes unless you want to add more fuel to the flame. Blaming a blamer means a scene; placating a placator means undignified delay, time is being wasted severely; computing a computer means dignified delay (it\’s a great way to stall); distracting a distracter means that panic is feeding panic; leveling with a leveler means syntonic communication, but, to what avail?

When you are being attacked, always make sure to identify the mode used by the attacker and try to make the defense fit the attack. Let\’s take for example this attack: \”If you really cared about the budget, you wouldn\’t be spending money the way you do.\”

Now the attacker is expecting you to focus on the bit of the attack that states that you spend money in an inappropriate fashion. This is what we call the bait. The bait is the part of the attack that is designed to infuriate you.

Therefore ignore the bait. Instead, find the presupposition that will most effectively short circuit the attack. The presupposition in this case is that you don\’t really care about the budget. Thus, if you answer the attacker: \”Since when do you think I don\’t care about the budget?\” you will catch the attacker off guard. Hence, by answering the blamer with the leveling mode, you manipulate the attack so that it won\’t escalate to an argument.

An attacker using computing mode would say something like this: \”If a person really cared about the budget, they wouldn\’t be spending money that way.\” The attack is very much the same. However the attacker is not addressing you directly however he or she is addressing you implicitly but indirectly (as the ‘person\’).

Again, ignore the bait and answer the presupposition: \”I couldn\’t agree with you more, a person who did care about the budget would indeed in no way spend money that way.\” By doing so, you are interrupting the attacker\’s strategic pattern, therefor causing them to shift their focus.

4) KNOW HOW TO FOLLOW THROUGH

This principle, for many people, is the hardest one of all. People usually think they are unable to follow through when their pride or ego is offended: \”I know what I should have done but I was not going to let him get away with it.\” This happens when an attack is so infuriating that the person hearing it ignores the goal of defusing the confrontation and goes into to conflict full force. This might feel good at the time. You might even think you won the confrontation with stronger arguments. However, this is a distortion of reality. The verbal abuser wants to engage in a conflict and create a scene. Therefore, by retaliating to his attack you are satisfying his desire. The verbal abuser marches you around and you lose.     

Others think they are unable to follow through because they feel too guilty: \”I knew what I ought to do but I just felt so guilty, I couldn\’t do it.\” This problem is based on a misconception. You feel that it is necessary to endure the verbal abuser because you think it is a kind thing to do. That is an incorrect assumption. The verbal abuser is addicted to the sense of power that comes from being able to make others miserable in that way.

When you feed that addiction, it is not kind, just like offering an alcoholic a drink is unkind. If you really want to be kind, refuse the victim role. Know how to follow through.  Therefore, remember to ignore the bait and answer the presupposition of the attack with the appropriate Satire mode.

VERBAL DEFUSING / DISTRACTION AS STRATEGY

Although verbal abuse very often sneaks up on you without you even realizing, it also takes a more obvious form. Indeed, we can distinguish three types of verbal aggressions: one is more subtle and leaves you confused not knowing for sure whether you are being attacked or not yet still ill at ease; the other is obvious and assures you that you are being attacked. The former rarely escalates into physical combat (although it could lead to murder in extreme cases) while the latter will in most cases not end without bloodshed.

You obviously recognize being in danger when someone is yelling insults, curses or other obscenities at you. An important accompaniment to all these verbal aggressive displays is the body language of the attacker. Autonomic signals such as facial expressions, agitated and tensed-up muscular movements gear the attacker\’s body up ready for action. In such cases, it is imperative that you adopt a passive stance. This strategic fighting stance gives you a tremendous amount of security, thus more confidence and control over the situation and your own actions. In any case it is necessary to try and verbally defuse the confrontation as much as you can.

If verbal defusing seems pointless, use verbal distractions, which consists in distracting the attacker from his or her immediate goal by using verbal initiators such as congruous questions or dialogue.

By doing so, you are strategically buying some time to ask yourself these fundamental questions:

1)‘What is my environment?\’ Am I in a shopping mall? In an alley? In the woods?

2)‘What are my surroundings?\’ Am I standing against the wall, near the escalators, am I alone or with someone I know? A girlfriend, a boyfriend, a relative?

3)‘Who am I dealing with?\’ a drunk bum on the streets? A guy who has four friends waiting for him in the corner of a store? A sociopath? Is the attacker carrying a concealed weapon?

4) ‘How do I feel?\’ Am I fatigued, sick, hurt, physically impaired etc. Even if you know that you will inevitably get into a fight, verbal distraction will give you some time to be aware of all these things.  It is imperative that you keep congruous behavioral tactics in the dialogue you choose.

Obviously one can say ‘how the hell can I think of all these things when my adrenaline is pouring in my blood and my heart starts beating faster every second?\’ The answer is easy. You shouldn\’t think about these things in any given circumstances; if you train your awareness regularly, it will come naturally. In confrontation, everything goes by so fast that you don\’t have time to think; you only have the time to react. However your reaction will be more strategic if it is based on a proactive choice. As you react, stay aware. Hence, verbal self-defense, even if ineffective in calming the attacker, still becomes a strategy allowing you to become aware of your environment and your surroundings.

As you are verbally defusing or distracting the attacker, it is extremely important that you keep your vision diffused. Vision diffusion means to avoid critical focus. When in critical focus your mind fully concentrates on what it sees, and nothing else in the peripheral. Therefore, never lock your eyes on the attacker and make sure to always look to the attacker\’s chest area so that you see all that surrounds you. Also by looking in the attacker\’s chest area and not strait into his or her eyes, you appear more vulnerable and submissive, thus feeding the attacker the illusion of power. On the other hand, if you look into the attacker\’s eyes, the attacker might take it as a sign of aggression and feel that you are challenging his or her threats. * End of Daniel\’s contribution 

Verbal Defusing is a way to change your attacker\’s focus without letting him know you are doing so out of strategy.  That is why behavioral tactics are extremely important in your choice of speech; keep your body language and tone of voice matching your words and the situation unfolding.  In other words if a guy has you by the collar because he believes you were staring at his girlfriend, don\’t yell out \”Hey Look… Superman!\”

6) Expected behavior: The gestures, phrases or movements that would be expected of the average person in a given situation.  In a violent confrontation, your attacker expects a certain behavioral pattern from you.  It usually goes two ways for the attacker or so he hopes.

1.) He attacks and threatens.  The intended victim freezes and panics.  The attacker gets what he wants.

2.) He attacks and threatens.  The victim attempts to fight back or struggle or does not immediately comply with the attacker.  The attacker escalates the use of violence and profane language in order to show he\’s in charge and instills fear, doubt and hesitation in the intended victim.  The victim falls for it, freezes and panics.  The attacker gets what he wants.

As a strategy, do what the attacker expects of you at first.  Act afraid, let him believe he has you where he wants you, at that point, he will think everything is going according to his plan.  He will therefore be less defensive and over-confident.  His ego will rise and his guard will drop.  He\’ll be more open for mistakes based on your presumed compliance.  That is when it becomes the ideal time to act.

7) Victim Assumption: Your attacker perceives you as being his victim, that is why he chose you. That is to be used to your advantage.  Since your attacker sees you as being week and compliant, stick with that plan and let him use this illusion. This will lower his guard and raise his ego making him the perfect candidate for a brutal and completely unexpected physical retaliation.  That is the ideal time to strike if necessary.

Thought process interruption/Distractions: These are techniques used to change the attackers focus. You see, the human brain cannot think of two completely different things at the exact same moment.  Thoughts can overlap each other at an incredibly fast pace, but no two separate thoughts can occur at the exact same time. 

So in the tradition of \”Look! Superman!\” thought process interruption could be verbal or physical such as asking an appropriate question or some dialogue that will shift the attackers attention away from his immediate goal.  Or they can be physical, like pulling out a wallet or playing with your watch to shift his attention and sight towards your wrist in order to sucker strike him with the back of your hand.

9) Element of surprise: Due to the above 8 steps, the attacker will perceive you as a victim and that is a psychological edge for you.  He will never expect you to fight back.  Your attack will come as a complete surprise to him and shift him into defensive mode as opposed to offensive.

*Steps 5, 7, 8 and 9 are examples of manipulation of human behavior.

10) Retaliate With Certitude: From peacemaker to piece maker, when de-escalation fails, an attitude reversal is required and a commitment to your own life has to take place.

Once it is determined that the confrontation cannot be verbally defused and is escalating to a physical level you are left with no other choice.  You have to fight back and fight like the devil.  In the words of the immortal Yoda from the movie The Empire Strikes Back, \”Just do it, don\’t try, trying implies possibility of failure\”.  You\’ve got to strike with confidence.  This will send strong messages to your attacker.  You\’ve got to strike with everything you\’ve got.

There\’s no need for a long introduction…this article will \”speak\” for itself. The following is a list of Barack Obama\’s connections to socialism, communism, Marxism, racial divisiveness, and political corruption. If you can ignore this and still support the man who refuses to disclose much of his past, then you should not be voting in November.

The Early Mentors and Influences

Barack Hussein Obama Sr. – Barack\’s father was an African socialist. While he was not with his son for much of Barack Jr.\’s childhood, they did keep in touch through routine correspondence according to the memoir, Dreams From My Father.

Stanley Ann Dunham – Barack\’s mother was a 60\’s liberal feminist and an atheist – all the makings of a rebellious, 60\’s-era, left-wing radical. There is little written about Barack\’s mother and her political views, but from what is known, she was certainly on the left of the political spectrum.

Frank Marshall Davis – \”Frank,\” as Barack Obama refers to him in his book, Dreams From My Father, was a member of the Communist Party (USA). He was also a former community organizer in Chicago. As a youth, Barack was treated to many of Davis\’ rants about white supremacy, white Christianity, and undoubtedly was aware of Davis\’ pro-Soviet writings. In his memoir, Barack merely says he was \”intrigued\” by Davis.

Saul Alinsky – Mr. Alinsky was an avid and open socialist and the king of social activism, commonly called the \”father of community organizing.\” He created many organizations that relied on street agitation tactics, such as the Industrial Areas Foundation, which trained Obama in organizing tactics. He wrote the book, Rules for Radicals, which outlined many of the tactics used today in community organizing campaigns. Barack Obama worked with the Developing Communities Project and the Gamaliel Foundation – both inspired by Saul Alinsky\’s tactics and socialist philosophy. Barack even wrote a chapter on community organizing in the book, After Alinsky. Saul Alinsky\’s son, Lee David Alinsky, recently praised Obama on his ability to perform Saul\’s tactics, saying that Barack \”learned his lesson well.\”

John L. McKnight – Referred to as Obama\’s \”community organizer mentor,\” McKnight taught Barack about community organizing while they were both working with the Gamaliel Foundation – a Saul Alinsky production. John McKnight is also a former ACLU director and sits on the board of the National People\’s Action (NPA), another leftist community organizing group. He teaches at Northwestern University  and he wrote a letter of recommendation to Harvard for Obama.

Radical Faith Testimonials

Reverend Jeremiah Wright – \”Uncle J\” was Barack\’s former pastor and mentor at Trinity United Church of Christ. The philosophy of the Church is based on the teachings of James Cone\’s black liberation theology. Cone admits that his theology is a mix of \”black religion and Marxist philosophy.\” Wright\’s fiery anti-white, anti-capitalist, and anti-United States sermons landed him in a media controversy that eventually led to Barack\’s denouncement of him in the spring of 2008, after 20 years of friendship. Wright had married Barack and Michelle and had baptized their two children. The pastor has also worked with Nation of Islam leader, Louis Farrakhan, and his church\’s magazine, Trumpet, has given Farrakhan a lifetime achievement award with praise coming from Wright.

The black liberation theology that is practiced at Trinity is based on James Cone\’s version of the religion. He has stated that Trinity represents the most accurate interpretation of his theology. Among the ideas expressed by Cone is the notion that \”black religion and Marxist philosophy may show us the way to build a completely new society.\” He also believes that \”to be black is to be committed to destroying everything this country loves and adores.\” Recently, reports have stated that Cone believes nothing Barack Obama has said or written in his books and speeches contradicts Cone\’s black liberation theology. Obama has simply blunted the more \”radical edge.\” On the other hand, Reverend Wright seems to have a firm grasp on what his theology represents – and he was able to influence Barack Obama with it for 20 years.

Father Michael Pfleger – This seemingly out-of-place white priest with a predominantly black congregation in South Chicago has had a relationship with Obama for nearly 20 years as well. He has received hundreds of thousands of dollars in earmarks and foundation grants from Obama and has contributed to Barack\’s multiple political campaigns. He had appeared on Barack\’s campaign website under the \”Faith\” category, but he has since been removed. Much like Wright, Father Pfleger spews fiery racial sermons and gives his support and admiration to Louis Farrakhan. According to Wright\’s Trumpet magazine, Pfleger also claims he \”got very educated by the [Black] Panthers – very educated.\”

Domestic Terrorism and Social \”Reform\”

William Ayers – Mr. Ayers is an unrepentant domestic terrorist and an anti-capitalist. He was a leader of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) in the 1960\’s and one of the militant spin-offs, the terrorist Weather Underground organization. These organizations were comprised of communist (\”small \’c\’\”) and anti-capitalist radicals. Part of Ayers\’ Weather Underground strategy was to align with black revolutionary organizations like the Black Panther Party because among other things, they felt \”white America\” exploited black people and they were taken to the military-like discipline exhibited by those groups. Their activities included bombing police stations, the Capitol Building, and the Pentagon. In recent years, Ayers has publicly stated that he is not sorry for what he did and wishes that he had done more. He has been photographed stomping on the American flag and says the idea that the United States is a fair and just nation \”makes me want to puke.\” He has also given speeches in Venezuela praising the efforts in education that the Hugo Chavez regime has been making…efforts that he has been trying to implement in the Chicago school system for decades.

Bill Ayers served for six years on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) with Barack Obama. Both men headed up separate branches of the CAC that worked together on project funding. He also served on the board of the Woods Fund with Obama for three years. In 1995, Ayers hosted the event at his house which would become the kick-start to Obama\’s political career. In that \”meet-and-greet,\” Alice Palmer handed over her Illinois State Senate reins to Barack (more on that later). Ayers wrote a book on the juvenile justice  system which Barack endorsed warmly, then the two were on a panel set up by Michelle Obama to discuss the merits of the book and current (at the time) legislation on the subject – which both Ayers and Obama opposed, as well as Bernardine Dohrn. Barack also taught classes at the University of Illinois-Chicago, where Ayers is a faculty member. In 2002, the Black Radical Congress (BRC) hosted a panel discussion at the University of Illinois-Chicago called \”Intellectuals in Times of Crisis.\” Barack Obama, Bill Ayers, and three endorsers of the BRC were on this panel. Contrary to the protestations by the Obama campaign, Bill Ayers is more than \”just a guy\” who lives in Barack\’s neighborhood.

Bernardine Dohrn – She is the wife of Bill Ayers and a former radical herself. Dohrn was the leader of the Revolutionary Youth Movement of the SDS and the Weather Underground. She was also a signatory of the Weather Underground\’s \”Declaration of War\” against the United States. She was a communist (Marxist-Leninist) and is a convicted criminal for her actions in the violent radical groups she was involved with throughout the 60\’s and 70\’s, particularly the aforementioned bombings. Dohrn later obtained a position at Sidley & Austin, the law firm where Michelle Obama worked. Dohrn\’s father-in-law, Tom Ayers, owned a company which had received long-time outside counsel from Sidley. She obtained her position at Sidley & Austin through Howard Trienens, a senior partner. Trienens, Tom Ayers, and Sidley partner Newton Minow, all served on the board of trustees at Northwestern University. Dohrn is now an adjunct professor at Northwestern.

Mike Klonsky – He was a Maoist, a former SDS national chairman (1968), and formed the \”October League\” when the SDS broke into several factions. The October League later became the Beijing-recognized U.S. Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), of which Klonsky became a leader in the 70\’s, traveling to China and praising the Maoist leadership. He took over the Small Schools Workshop which was created by Ayers, when Ayers headed up the CAC in 1995. The CAC, with Barack as one of its chairs, continued to fund the Workshop throughout the CAC\’s existence. Klonsky was also an official blogger for the Obama presidential campaign website in 2008.

Marilyn Katz – She oversaw security for the SDS, where she met Ayers. She was part of the Committee of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, which organized the 2002 anti-war speech in Chicago where Barack Obama famously spoke out against the Iraq War. Katz is a signatory of the Progressives for Obama website and the founder of Chicagoans Against War on Iraq. She also happens to have played poker games with Judson Miner, the liberal lawyer who hired Obama upon his return to Chicago after graduating Harvard Law School. Obama met Katz through the Miner Barnhill & Galland law firm. Miner was also a law school classmate of Bernardine Dohrn at the University of Chicago in the 60\’s. Katz has held fundraisers for Obama in her home and is a media advisor for the Obama presidential campaign.

Carl Davidson – He was a former leader of the SDS and a Maoist, like Klonsky. He was also one of the organizers for the 2002 anti-war speech. Davidson is the webmaster for the website, Progressives for Obama, which posts blogs from other 60\’s radicals like Tom Hayden and Bill Fletcher, who created the website and its agenda.

Bill Fletcher – As mentioned, he was a 60\’s radical (a Maoist) and is one of the creators of the Progressives for Obama website. While there is no evidence of a direct connection to the Obama campaign, he has endorsed the call of the Black Radical Congress along with Obama advisor Cornel West and has connections to others that are directly involved with Obama and his campaign.

Incestuous Relationships and Friendly Donations

Woods Fund – In 1993, Barack Obama became a board member with the Woods Fund. A man named Ken Rolling was a program officer with the fund at the time. During the late 80\’s the Woods Fund gave grants to the Developing Communities Project, where Obama had worked as a community organizer. At the time, the Woods Fund was supporting the Chicago Local School Councils (LSC\’s) which were created from the 1988 Chicago School Reform Act. Bill Ayers was involved with establishing these LSC\’s along with his brother John, who was a leader in the LSC\’s and became head of the Leadership for Quality Education (LQE) in 1993. The LQE was a group formed at the time of the Reform Act and was supported by a local business lobby that wanted to use the LQE as a means to train the LSC\’s. Ayers joined Obama on the board of the Woods Fund in 1999 and they worked together there until 2002.

Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) – Bill Ayers played a seminal role in the creation of the CAC. One of the main goals of the Challenge was to build on the 1988 Reform Act and the LSC\’s, which he supported and in which his brother was involved. In 1995, the CAC began its operations with Barack Obama as Chairman of the Board. Bill Ayers was co-chair of the Chicago School Reform Collaborative, one of three branches of the CAC – the Board being another. Ken Rolling was brought in from the Woods Fund as Executive Director. In the first year a $175,000 grant was awarded to the Small Schools Workshop which was founded by Ayers but control was turned over to fellow radical, Mike Klonsky, once Ayers began the CAC. Obama and Ayers worked together in the CAC from 1995 until its end in 2001. That year, the CAC came to an end but handed startup funds over to Penny Pritzker and the Chicago Public Education Fund (CPEF). Pritzker is now part of the fundraising operation in the Obama campaign. In 2003, the CAC\’s own report admitted that the ultimate goal of the CAC – to improve academic achievement – was a failure. Regardless of the outcome, it is plain that the goals for Ayers and Obama were similar…and knowing Ayers\’ past, it isn\’t something that should be taken with a grain of salt.

Sidley & Austin – This is the Chicago law firm that brought in Obama as a summer associate in 1989. It\’s also the firm where Michelle Obama worked and reportedly met Barack for the first time. Sidley had been outside counsel to Tom Ayers\’ company, Commonwealth Edison. Howard Trienens, the partner that handled Commonwealth Edison, hired Bernardine Dohrn at Sidley. Trienens was on the board of trustees at Northwestern with Tom Ayers, Dohrn\’s father-in-law, and Newton Minow, another Sidley partner.

ACORN – Obama has extensive ties to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, as do his two prominent spiritual influences, Wright and Pfleger. Obama\’s Developing Communities Project and his \”Project VOTE\” campaign worked closely with ACORN. Both the Woods Fund and Joyce Foundation – where Obama sat on both boards – gave frequent donations to ACORN. He filed a successful lawsuit on behalf of ACORN to enforce the \”motor-voter\” law in Illinois. Madeleine Talbot, a former ACORN leader in Chicago, hired Obama to train her staff on organizing tactics. Talbot was arrested for a protest that broke into a Chicago City Council session in 1997. In return for training Chicago ACORN leaders in community organizing techniques, Obama received their help with his political campaigns. Obama had also joined with ACORN to try to overturn Indiana\’s voter I.D. laws, but the Supreme Court rejected their complaint.

What is ACORN\’s record? In St. Louis, eight local ACORN workers were indicted on charges related to voter fraud from fake information on registration forms in 2006. One of the eight pleaded guilty in March. Seven workers were indicted on felony charges in Seattle because of phony registration forms and some of the workers already had criminal records. Three workers pleaded guilty in 2007 and ACORN eventually settled the largest case of voter fraud in Washington State history, paying $25,000 in restitutions. Similar problems are being investigated in at least twelve other states. ACORN\’s political action committee (PAC) has endorsed Barack Obama for president.

Notable Friends and Advisors

Linda Darling-Hammond – Currently an education advisor to the Obama presidential campaign, Darling-Hammond has some less obvious connections to the leftist agenda, so it will take a little longer to define them. She has writings and has supported the notion of an \”education debt\” which is said to plague minority communities. This concept is a product of another educator, Gloria Ladson-Billings. Ladson-Billings is one of the pioneers of the phrase \”education debt,\” which is apparently the by-product (at least in part) of a reparations agenda pushed by people like the factually-incorrect and racist, Randall Robinson and books like, The Debt: What America Owes to Blacks. In 2006, Ladson-Billings gave her Presidential Address to the leftist-tainted American Educational Research Association (AERA) in which she spoke about repaying the \”education debt.\” She also announced the selection of Darling-Hammond to the Association\’s governing council that same week. As it turns out, Bill Ayers was recently elected as an AERA vice-president (but for some reason, he no longer appears on their website as a VP of curriculum studies.)

Darling-Hammond and Ladson-Billings also appear together in two different liberal education programs, the Forum for Education and Democracy (FED) and the Economic Policy Institute\’s (EPI) \”Bold Approach.\” Both of these programs preach the concept of \”social justice,\” which seems to be code for socialist redistribution programs. And they both have more connections to Bill Ayers. Ladson-Billings has contributed writings for Ayers-edited books, she\’s been a co-editor with Ayers, and wrote a forward to another of his books. Darling-Hammond, who has taken up the agenda of the two liberal programs, including the notion of the reparations-inspired \”education debt,\” and is a long-time member of the AERA, has also had her writings appear in an Ayers-edited book. Ayers obviously supports the liberal agenda of both of these educators, the two programs, and the AERA, as does Mike Klonsky, who is a co-signer of the \”Bold Approach\” agenda.

Laurence Tribe – Mr. Tribe was one of Barack\’s professors/mentors at Harvard. He co-founded and is on the board of advisors of the American Constitution Society (ACS), a leftist counter to the Federalist Society. The ACS defines itself as promoting the \”progressive\” agenda in law. Mr. Tribe has been accused of plagiarizing in one of his books and believes animals should have legal standing to sue humans and businesses. He is on a short list of possible Supreme Court nominees if Obama wins the presidential election and is currently an advisor to his campaign.

Charles Ogletree – He is another one of Barack\’s Harvard professors/mentors and an advocate for reparations for slavery, despite the fact that he believes reparations could cost the government trillions of dollars – and the fact that those trillions would come from the taxpayers, including other black people. He has also been accused of plagiarizing, like his colleague Laurence Tribe, and is currently an advisor to the Obama campaign.

Cornel West – Mr. West defines his political ideology as \”non-Marxist socialist.\” He is an anti-capitalist and honorary chair of the Democratic Socialists of America. He is a contributor/signatory to the Progressives for Obama website and has endorsed the Black Radical Congress\’ (BRC) call for a \”renewed struggle.\” He appeared together with Reverend Jeremiah Wright on a panel called \”Faith as a Weapon: Spirituality and the Role of the Church in the Radical Movement\” hosted by the newly formed BRC in 1998. West was also involved in the Million Man March and has many other connections to the racist and anti-Israeli, Louis Farrakhan.

Alice Palmer – She is a former executive board member of the U.S. Peace Council (a communist front group), which is an affiliate of the World Peace Council (a Soviet front group). In 1983, she attended the World Peace Council\’s Prague Assembly. Palmer wrote an article in the People\’s Daily World – a CPUSA newspaper – describing how impressive the Soviet system was when she attended the 27th Congress of the Communist Party in the Soviet Union. When she decided to give up her Illinois Senate seat in an effort to win an election for U.S. Representative, she identified Barack Obama as her successor in the State Senate. She held a \”meet-and-greet\” at the home of Bill Ayers for Obama\’s introduction into the Illinois political arena.

Antoin \”Tony\” Rezko – The relationship between Obama and Rezko goes back to 1990. That year, Tony Rezko offered Obama a job with his housing development business, but Obama declined. They remained friends ever since and Rezko became one of Obama\’s biggest campaign contributors. Over the years, Barack has obtained millions of dollars in grants for Rezko to build inner-city housing. However, many of these properties have been plagued by financial misdeeds and problems with infrastructure and maintenance. One project for a senior-citizens complex garnered $14 million for Rezko and his business partner, Allison Davis – an Obama fundraiser and former boss at the law firm then named Davis Miner Barnhill & Galland. At the time Obama\’s letter was written asking for legislative support for the project, Cottage View Terrace, Obama was a lawyer with Miner Barnhill & Galland – the same law firm but without Davis as a partner. The firm had several companies owned by Rezko and Davis as clients, but not New Kenwood LLC which was in charge of Cottage View Terrace. Tony Rezko was recently convicted of several felonies involving corruption and kickbacks to various Chicago politicians.

In June 2005, Barack Obama and Tony Rezko purchased adjacent properties on the same day and from the same owner in Chicago. Obama paid $300,000 below the asking price while Rezko paid full price. At the time, it was already known that Rezko was under investigation for criminal charges. In January of 2006, Mrs. Rezko sold a ten foot strip of property to Obama. When asked about the questionable circumstances surrounding the purchase of the two properties, Obama apologized and said his actions were \”boneheaded.\”

Rashid Khalidi – Mr. Khalidi is a Palestinian political activist and a professor at Columbia University. For six years in Beirut, he was the director of WAFA, the official Palestinian press agency where his wife had also worked as chief editor of the English section. Mr. Khalidi has also worked with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) during the height of its terrorist campaigns in the Middle East. While in Chicago, the Khalidi\’s created the Arab American Action Network (AAAN), an anti-Israeli group, and received $75,000 in grants from the Woods Fund when Obama and Ayers were on the board. Khalidi has also held fundraisers for Obama and the Obama\’s have had many dinners at the Khalidi\’s home in Chicago. Khalidi also started the website Electronic Intifada – an anti-Israeli site – with Ali Abunimah, another Obama associate. Both Khalidi and Abunimah have considered Obama a friend and ally to their cause.

Robert Malley – This former \”informal\” foreign policy advisor to the Obama campaign resigned in May 2008 due to allegations that he was meeting with members of the terrorist organization, Hamas. Malley dismissed his meetings with these contacts as simply being part of his job. But he is also anti-Israeli with a long list of op-ed articles – some co-authored by former Yasser Arafat advisors – with a revisionist slant and intent to denounce Israeli attempts for peace and security. Not surprisingly, Malley\’s father was a fervent anti-Western, \”Third-Worldist\” who wrote about liberation \”struggle\” – leftist code for anti-capitalism and pro-socialist/communist movements.

Closing Thoughts

These are not just associations. All of these connections are family members, close friends and \”mentors,\” and affiliations/organizations that Obama willingly participated with and in – and financially supported. If Barack doesn\’t know about their past and their political ideologies, then he is oblivious to his surroundings and does not belong in the White House as the leader of our country. If he knew about these things but didn\’t think they mattered, then he is beyond naïve and does not belong in the White House. If he knew about these things and openly welcomed it, then he\’s just downright dangerous and does not belong on a local school board, let alone in the White House.

All of these incestuous relationships directly place Barack Obama deep inside the socialist/communist movements in Chicago. His plans and policies are radical and his associations and partners are mostly on the very far left of politics. Socialism and communism are not – and shouldn\’t be – acceptable philosophies in this country, especially from a person running for president. This isn\’t simply a matter of \”guilt by association.\” These relationships are long-lasting and ingrained into Barack\’s political philosophy and ideology. There\’s a reason why he will do anything and everything it takes to ignore, deny, or denounce every one of these associations once they are brought to the public\’s attention.

Is this guilt by association? Not at all. These associations demonstrate a pattern of relationships with leftist radicals, criminally corrupt developers, and racially divisive activists. These relationships are not a matter of happenstance either. Barack sought out these groups from his early days. He did not grow up in Chicago – he chose to live there. His associations are a direct result of his decision-making and his chosen path to political power. He willingly participated in socialist-minded groups and worked with radicals and unrepentant criminals. He is beyond dangerous to this republic of ours and his policies are beyond destructive.

I must say that I\’m surprised Invictus made less money than The Blind Side. There\’s something about The Blind Side that seems very stereotypical to me and makes the film completely uninteresting, but then again, I could be wrong. The Princess and the Frog did even better than expected raking in over $24 million and breaking a record as the highest grossing animated movie on opening weekend during the month of December. It seems that Twilight fans are watching their favorite flick over and over again with New Moon coming in at fourth place on its third week in. Disney\’s A Christmas Carol received mixed reviews with some critics claiming that it\’s just more of the same old story, however, the film has grossed $30,051,075 and was number one during its opening weekend.

Avatar is released today and is expected to reap in a huge profit, at least, that\’s what James Cameron is hoping after he just made the most expensive film of all time. The effects should be incredible with Cameron\’s new invention that allows him to direct an animated film in real time. He created a new camera that will bring us even closer into the 3-D picture. Cameron has waited years for this and had the story prepared well in advance. He did not make it years ago because he was waiting for new technological developments to come around to present the movie the way he wants it to be seen. The story seems compelling and it seems to target a wide audience. Could this film draw in as many cronies as Star Wars? Time will tell!
Did You Hear About the Morgans? About who? This film is coming out today and in case you haven\’t heard of it among the Avatar craze, it\’s the romantic comedy starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant. There\’s probably a reason if you haven\’t heard of it. The film has already received a D+ from critics and it will probably be devoured by the competition. The couple\’s marriage is in trouble and they happen to witness a murder. Their relationship begins to grow when they are placed under witness protection and relocated to a suburban town.
There has been a decent amount of chitchat on the Internet about the new film Nine. I\’m not quite sure what to make of it just yet because I haven\’t seen the trailer. What I can say for sure is that the cast of this musical is fantastic. It stars Penelope Cruz (who was just in a film that opened last week), Daniel Day Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Marion Cotillard and Fergie! The story focuses on director Guido Contini who is trying to juggle the many women in his life.

Iron Man 2 is an upcoming 2010 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name from Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment. It is the sequel to 2008\’s Iron Man, and the second film in a planned trilogy.[5]  Directed by Jon Favreau, the film stars Robert Downey, Jr. reprising his role as Tony Stark, an industrialist and master engineer, also known as the superhero Iron Man. The film is scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on April 30, 2010 and in North America on May 7, 2010.

The world is aware that billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) is the armored superhero Iron Man. Under pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military, Tony is unwilling to divulge the secrets behind the Iron Man armor because he fears the information will slip into the wrong hands. With Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James \”Rhodey\” Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, Tony forges new alliances and confronts powerful new forces.

* Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man: The billionaire playboy who, after being held captive, escaped with a suit of armor he created and now uses it to make the world a better place with an upgraded version
* Don Cheadle as Lt. Colonel James \”Rhodey\” Rhodes / War Machine:[7] Cheadle replaces Terrence Howard from the first film. Howard said, \”There was no explanation, apparently the contracts that we write and sign aren\’t worth the paper that they\’re printed on sometimes. Promises aren\’t kept, and good faith negotiations aren\’t always held up.\”[8] Entertainment Weekly stated Favreau did not enjoy working with Howard, often reshooting and cutting his scenes; Howard\’s publicist said he had a good experience playing the part, while Marvel chose not to comment. As Favreau and Theroux chose to minimize the role, Marvel came to Howard to discuss lowering his salary – Howard was the first actor hired in Iron Man and earned the largest salary of the cast. The publication stated they were unsure whether Howard\’s representatives left the project first or if Marvel chose to stop negotiating.[9] Theroux denied the part of the report stating \”the role of War Machine was scaled back and then beefed up\”.[10] Cheadle only had a few hours to accept the role and did not even know what storyline Rhodes would undergo.[11] He commented he is a comic book fan, but had not previously participated in comics-themed films due to the lack of black superheroes.[12]

* Mickey Rourke as Ivan Vanko / Whiplash:[13] This version of the character includes elements of both Blacklash and Crimson Dynamo from the comics. In the film, he will be the son of Russian scientist Anton Vanko, who, in the comics, is the original Crimson Dynamo and creator of said armor.[14] He will serve as the primary antagonist of the film. Downey offered Rourke the part during a roundtable discussion with David Ansen at the 2009 Golden Globes, and Rourke met with Favreau and Theroux to discuss his character\’s role. Rourke almost dropped out of the role due to Marvel\’s initial salary offer of $250,000, so the studio chose to increase the deal.[15] Rourke researched for the part by visiting Butyrka prison.[16] He suggested half of the character\’s dialogue be in Russian.[17]

* Gwyneth Paltrow as Virginia \”Pepper\” Potts: Stark\’s closest friend, budding love interest, and business partner after Pepper replaced Obadiah Stane as CEO of Stark Industries.[18]

* Scarlett Johansson as Natalia Romanova / Black Widow: An undercover spy for S.H.I.E.L.D. posing as Stark\’s assistant.[19] Johansson was cast after a scheduling conflict forced Emily Blunt to drop out of the part.[20]

* Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer: Rockwell was considered for the role of Tony Stark in the first film, and he accepted the role of Hammer without reading the script.[21] He had never heard of the character before he was contacted about the part, and was unaware Hammer is an old man in the comics, whereas in the film he will be significantly closer to Stark\’s age.[22] Hammer will pose as the main antagonist along with Whiplash. Rockwell says his character is \”plucky comic relief, but he\’s got a little bit of an edge\”.[23]

* Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury: Jackson initially had financial problems with Marvel and was unsure about reprising the part of Fury, until they reached a deal that would entail his appearance in up to nine films as the character.[24]

Jon Favreau will reprise his role as Happy Hogan,[25] Tony Stark\’s bodyguard and chauffeur. John Slattery will appear as Howard Stark, Tony\’s father.[26] Garry Shandling appears as Senator Stern, a senator who wants Stark to give Iron Man\’s armor to the government.[12][27] Paul Bettany will again voice Stark\’s computer, JARVIS.[28] Clark Gregg will reprise his role as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson from the first film.[29] Leslie Bibb will also reprise her role as reporter Christine Everhart. Kate Mara will appear as an FBI agent. Olivia Munn will play an unspecified role.[30] Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic revealed that he will be cast in the film, however his role isn\’t mentioned.[31] Stan Lee will appear as talk show host Larry King.[

Mid Atlantic saltwater fishing is characterized by some of the nation\’s most sought after species of fish. These include hard fighting fish such as red drum, black drum, striped bass, bluefish, cobia, speckled trout and others.

Black drum are heavy bodied fish with barbels or whiskers under the chin. Adults are typically 30-15 pounds although trophy fish can exceed 100 pounds. Black drum are members of the croaker family, most of which have the ability to produce croaking or drumming sounds.

Anglers fish for black drum using surf clams, hard clams, peeler crabs and other baits. Tackle is simple but stout, with most anglers using 20-30 lb line, sinkers from 3-8 oz and a single hook rig. Many anglers use circle hooks which work well with these fish. Top baits include surf clams, quahogs and peeler crabs.

Red drum are another large member of the croaker family, sometimes exceeding 50 lbs. Also known as channel bass, redfish and spot tail bass, these fish are easily recognized by their reddish-copper color and black spot or spots on the tail. In 2007, the species was designated as a protected game fish. The red drum is also the state fish of North Carolina.

Depending on the location, anglers use a variety of techniques to catch red drum. Throughout most of the Mid Atlantic region, these beautiful fish are caught while surf fishing. Anglers fish with cut spot, whole mullet, crabs or other baits, using fish finder rigs and medium tackle. A large number of anglers choose to release large red drum, taking only a photo to remember the experience by.

Spotted sea trout, also known as speckled trout are common throughout North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. The fish are known for their beautiful pattern of black spots on an olive-green or gray back, silver-blue sides and a white belly. Spotted sea trout range from 12 -32 inches in length and weigh up to 10 pounds.

Speckled trout are caught using a variety of methods including fishing with live bait, cut bait and casting artificial lures or fly fishing. Shallow water fishing for speckled trout using artificial lures is popular in much of the region. Anglers cast small jigs, soft plastics and other lures around the edges of grass beds, stumps, points, rips and other likely areas. Fly fishermen also target these areas, fishing a variety of flies that mimic bay local baits such as bay anchovies, mullet, spot, shrimp or blue crabs.

In some areas, speckled trout can be caught by anchoring and bottom fishing with live or baits. Fish are sometimes caught in deep water along a channel edge, but most bait fishing for specks occurs around grass beds in shallow water. In areas such as the Chesapeake Bay, peeler and soft crab baits are popular while North Carolina anglers are more likely to fish with live shrimp or spot.

Striped bass are highly sought after by Mid Atlantic anglers. Also known as rockfish or stripers, these heavy bodied fish follow a predictable life cycle. The major nursery for Atlantic striped bass stocks is the Chesapeake Bay. Young fish feed and grow in shallow estuaries until they are large enough to leave the bay. Some adults remain in the bay but the majority spend their adult lives migrating seasonally along the coast from New England to the Carolinas.

During the fall and winter, the Mid Atlantic coast and Chesapeake Bay has outstanding fishing, with trophy striped bass being caught. These fish congregate in the Chesapeake and along of the Atlantic Coast to feed on migrating baitfish. Fishing can be spectacular and often is very productive, even in foul winter weather.

Light tackle jigging is an easy technique for catching striped bass. Tackle is simple for this type of fishing, with a variety of outfits from 8-30 lb used depending on the situation. Popular jigs include bucktails, metal jigs, soft plastics and other lures.

Wire line trolling works in many locations where striped bass can be found. Working with wire line is a bit difficult to get used to but the results are very consistent. Rods are spooled with #30 monel or other types of wire. Terminal tackle includes a 3 way swivel. A 24 or 28 oz. sinker is added on 3-4\’ section of #30 mono. The third part of the swivel gets a 20-30\’ leader with either a single lure or a pair of jigs.

Live baiting is another productive technique for catching striped bass. Baits include clams, crabs, eels, small fish, shrimp, and other baits. These vary with season and location. Fishermen choose live baits depending on availability and personal preference. Some anglers obtain live baits from local tackle shops while others catch their own.

Bluefish are an exciting Mid Atlantic gamefish. They are found from Maine to Florida. The fish are voracious feeders and are known for their sharp teeth and ability to demolish even the strongest tackle. Bluefish have been known to gather in schools that cover an area of ocean equivalent to 10,000 football fields.

Along the USA east coast, bluefish can be found along shorelines, inlets, jetties, beaches and areas where rips form such as sharp bends or channel edges. Many of these locations are ideal for shorebound fishermen. Fishing opportunities also exist for boaters, including areas where bluefish congregate in large numbers. Bluefish often work bait to the surface and their location given away by birds or when their backs or tails appear above the surface. Other anglers chum with ground menhaden or mackerel in order to bring bluefish within casting range.

Blue Catfish are the largest American catfish. They can grow to over 55 inches long and can weigh over than 100 pounds, living up to 25 years. Adult blue catfish have stout bodies with prominently humped back in front of the dorsal fin. They have deeply forked tails similar to channel catfish, but lack spots and have a large straight edged anal fin.

The Mid Atlantic has some of the best fishing for blue catfish in the country. Popular areas for catching blue catfish include the James, Rappahannock, Chickahominy, Mattoponi and Shendandoah rivers. In tidal areas such as the James River, blue catfish have adapted to saltwater tidal flows and actively move into position to feed as the tide brings baitfish into range.

Blue cat anglers fish baits such as shad around structure where big catfish lurk. Fishing for blue catfish has quickly become a trophy catch and release fishery in tidal sections of rivers and the anglers who fish for them often share skills and tips.

Cobia are among the largest and most exciting gamefish of the Mid Atlantic region. They are striking fish, with sleek, brightly striped bodies. The fish are brown above, with a very visible black stripe along the lateral line, and white below. They have a wide blunt head, large mouth and deeply forked tail. Averaging 15 to 30 pounds, they can reach more than 100 pounds and nearly 6 feet in length.

Cobia fishermen use a variety of outfits, depending on the type of fishing. Some anglers may choose light outfits, while others employ stronger gear as these fish can reach weights of 100 lbs. For sight casting baits or lures, most anglers use a spinning or baitcasting outfit in the 20-30 lb range. Other situations such as chumming require similar or slightly heavier conventional reels. Because of the cobia\’s size and searing runs, a smooth drag and fresh, durable line is essential.

Live baits for cobia include spot, menhaden, mullet, minnows, perch, eels, shrimp, crabs, clams and other baits. These vary with season and location. Fishermen choose live baits depending on availability and personal preference. Some anglers will find live baits in local tackle shops while others need to catch their own.

Bad weather may be heading our way. Many very smart voices have raised their volume over the number of alarming red flags pointing to a worldwide environmental catastrophe coming in a few years or decades hence. One voice, coming from the sharp mind of James Lovelock is resounding across the world\’s media nearly every day. His solution: get more nuclear reactors online and sequester the carbon dioxide emissions as fast as possible.

What\’s the alternative? Move to the Arctic Circle, where you may someday bask year around with temperatures pleasantly at 74 degrees Fahrenheit. According to findings recently published in the journal Nature. About 55 million years ago, there was something called the Paleocene Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM). In this PETM phenomenon, the entire Earth was heated up by a gigantic release of greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide. Lovelock has insisted we may see that kind of hot later this century.

Now, another brainy man, with whom we have many chats this year, has issued a special 56-page report, entitled \”Investment Implications of an Abrupt Climate Change.\” Co-authored by Market Strategist Kevin Bambrough and Eric Sprott, Chief Executive and Portfolio Manager of the world-famous money management firm which bears his name, they present a compelling argument as to why and how global warming and climate change is going to dramatically impact our financial world. You are well advised to read it.

Take Your Pick: Nuclear Energy or Cheap Arctic Land

Aside from optioning to buy vast tracts of land near the Arctic Circle, as Dr. Lovelock\’s conclusions force us to briefly consider, what can we do to protect our finances? Global warming, climate change and an apocalypse soon to dawn on the horizon are probably too much reality for the here and now. But, what will you do ten to thirty years from now? This past week, we interviewed Julian Steyn, author of A Brighter Tomorrow, which he co-wrote with U.S. Senator Pete Domenici. A conservative and rational man, even he admitted in an email, \”I am afraid I do agree with his (Lovelock\’s) concerns.\”

If one finds logic within the statistical analysis presented by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a rational mind would want to start protecting his finances today in order to ensure future survival for his family and lineage. Esteemed scientists have picked their way through mountains of statistics, charts and projections about what is happening with melting glaciers, rising temperatures, higher sea levels and so forth. They do not like what they see, they are not alone, and the better minds are not endorsing wind farms or solar panels as \”the solution.\” They see nuclear fission reactors as mandatory, and the faster these go online, the less we will later have to sweat (literally).

Eric Sprott and Kevin Bambrough have laid out a possible solution, a cogent thesis as to why we must stop fooling around now. They didn\’t write the report to alarm and cajole you to lynch the next environmentalist or anti-nuke whom you come across. Messrs. Sprott and Bambrough provided a blueprint of what must be done by governments and decision-makers. More importantly, they have given us extremely provocative advice on HOW to protect our finances during the brewing crisis.

Remember, it won\’t just be some meteor hitting the earth (although that might happen, too). Global warming is tantamount to boiling water on your stove. First, it gets warm, then warmer and warmer. Eventually, it gets hot. Then, the water boils. In other words, the catastrophe will brew for a while, causing political and economic instability, and a host of other ills, probably better described in biblical terms. Most of us, unfortunately, will wait until the next Hurricane Katrina is a few miles down the road before waking up.

Through the first half of the report, the authors cover global warming and climate change, in just about every way imaginable. Messrs. Sprott and Bambrough found nooks and crannies which may alarm you. Did you know the world\’s largest aquifer, the Ogallala aquifer in the United States, is drying up because the glaciers, which created this aquifer, are receding? Fresh water is already in short supply for one-third of the world\’s population. We may be surrounded by water, but could lack a glass of fresh water to drink. Ask the Saudis why they are building desalination plants as fast they can. Imagine if those arid conditions prevailed across more than 90 percent of the landmass of earth.

What happens as the earth\’s temperature goes up? Increased urbanization, growing GDPs and demand for all the niceties that come with \”civilization\” have a price: more CO2 emissions. Deadly CO2 emissions, which raise the earth\’s temperature, poison our air and kill our plants (and us), are very likely going to turn this earth into a potboiler before the century ends.

Nuclear Expansion Needs More Uranium

\”This IS the perfect storm,\” Kevin Bambrough warned, not as the abused cliché the term has become, but as an angry voice demanding decision-makers take to heart the gravity of CO2 emissions. \”We need more nuclear reactors now,\” he told us. He directed us to environmentalist Patrick Moore\’s contention that the U.S. should reverse its energy source mix from an 80-percent dependence upon fossil fuels, relying instead upon nuclear energy for 60-percent of our electrical power supply.

Under the former Greenpeace co-founder\’s scenario, Bambrough extrapolated the World Nuclear Association (WNA) projections for 2030. Nuclear power demand is then expected to soar from the current 368 Gw, produced by the world\’s 441 nuclear reactors. He computed, using Moore\’s premise of a 60-percent nuclear-reliance, that nuclear reactors would produce 18,900 Twh of the total power demand in 2030, which the WNA estimates might reach 31,500 Twh. To produce that much electricity, Bambrough calculated that by 2030, nearly 2700 nuclear reactors will be required across the planet. Envisioning the \”potential\” of a 600-percent increase in nuclear reactors online, about 25 years from now, Bambrough also calculated how much uranium would be required to fuel those reactors.

According to Bambrough, current global uranium mining production rests at about the 100 million-pound level. By 2030, if nuclear energy expands as Moore insists it should, then the world\’s utilities will require on the order of about 1.3 billion pounds every year. With regards to a planetary build-up of nuclear energy, Bambrough wrote, \”The supply of uranium may well be the most limiting factor.\”  

This may become the new case for a sustained rally in the spot uranium price. Bambrough wrote, \”Much higher uranium prices will be required to attract enough investment capital to meet the growth in demand.\” This has already begun, as uranium prices have skyrocketed for the past six years. Long-term uranium recently traded as high as $46/pound, exponentially higher than the spot price of $6.40/pound in late 2000. Bambrough is correct in his conclusion. Building an underground uranium mine costs far more than it did in the glory days of uranium in the 1950s. Environmental regulations force miners to spend more and take longer in constructing any uranium-producing facility, including an ISL operation.

\”Marginal mines will become price setters,\” wrote Bambrough. This helps explain why the Sprott Asset Management funds have invested heavily in companies such as Strathmore Minerals (TSX: STM; Other OTC: STHJF), Energy Metals (TSX: EMC) and others. When we first interviewed Strathmore Minerals Chief Executive, Dev Randhawa, in June 2004, he told us his strategy was to capitalize upon a sustained rally in the uranium price by acquiring properties which were uneconomic at the sub-$20/level. His strategy has rewarded shareholders and continued to do so with each uptick in the spot uranium price. If Bambrough\’s conclusion is accurate, the junior uranium developers could very well become the Internet high-fliers. That conclusion was reached by newsletter writer James Dines, this past November, and repeated numerous times in multiple reports by others.

\”Large low-cost producers may be able to reap Middle East-like oil profits for decades,\” wrote Bambrough. If the spread between production costs and spot uranium keeps widening, the smaller uranium companies are going to hit it big. Those companies, which postponed uranium mining, will be selling their uranium production at the kind of profits-to-production spread ExxonMobil or ChevronTexaco now enjoy.

Rising uranium prices are probably more of an irritation for fuel traders than the utilities, who worry about construction costs. The actual fuel cost to operate a nuclear power plant borders on the absurd. Bambrough wrote in his report, \”Fuel costs (for nuclear) are merely 4.5 percent of total costs, even with uranium at $40 per lb. If uranium rises to $100 per lb (a further 150 percent increase), the cost of nuclear power would only rise by approximately 6.75 percent.\” Fuel costs for coal and gas are 35 and 73 percent, respectively. And they release massive doses of CO2 into the air.

What else can be done aside from a worldwide, unanimous endorsement of nuclear energy? There may still be difficulties ahead. Lovelock told us the CO2 emissions problem should have been addressed 50 years ago. It takes between 50 and 100 years for the atmosphere to cycle through those emissions.

The Sprott report co-authors concluded there will be supply problems for food, water and energy.  They envision problems with national security, soaring grain prices, and greater investments needed to provide water and energy to those who aren\’t buried ten feet deep in their indebtedness. They foresee a currency collapse as central banks flood the money system to provide liquidity. And, of course, gold will resume the role it has always held during times of overpowering economic calamity.

Is this too much reality for you? Should we just wait a while and see what transpires? We might not be so lucky. Some experts, such as the Chief Claims Strategist for Swiss Re, wrote in a March 2006 CERES report, \”Global warming has accelerated from a problem that might affect our grandchildren, to one that could significantly disturb the social and economic conditions of our lifetime.\”

In other words, Messrs. Sprott and Bambrough are correct in their assumptions and conclusions. The time to get moving is today, not thirty years from now.

For a second opinion, before completing this column, we forwarded the Sprott report to David Miller. He wears many hats, including a consultancy to the International Atomic Energy Agency, third-term Wyoming legislator,  president of Strathmore Minerals (TSX: STM) and a walking encyclopedia on uranium, geology, nuclear power and politics. He responded quite bluntly, \”The fuel of the 19th century was coal. The fuel of the 20th century was oil. Both have run their economic course. Uranium is on its way to becoming the energy fuel of the 21st century. The crescendo of countries clamoring for nuclear energy has been growing louder in each year of this new millennium.\” Perhaps, we may yet see Moore\’s energy mix come to pass, or at least dramatic growth in the nuclear sector to more closely approach his targeted percentage level.

One key question remains unanswered, during our two-year investigation into uranium and nuclear energy. Sure, we\’ve gotten a lot of answers, but we remain unconvinced. No one has satisfactorily answered this question: \”Will there be sufficient supplies of \’already mined uranium\’ and current mining production available to the world\’s nuclear reactors to meet the anticipated global demand for electricity?\” The make-break word in the above question is \”available.\” Uranium is nearly everywhere. There are about 1.7 billion pounds of \’already mined uranium\’ in the world\’s inventories. But will there be enough uranium made available to the utilities when the time comes?

If there is not, today\’s spot uranium price could look comparable to gasoline prices, circa 1965, at some future point.

The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) ANI Conference  finished its annual run on June 23rd in Las Vegas. The leading healthcare financial executive industry organization had no shortage of issues on its plate this year, with many implications and takeaways for healthcare IT providers.

The most pressing issue at hand should come as no surprise. As past ANI speaker James Carville would bluntly put it: \”It\’s the economy, stupid.\” Healthcare organizations remain concerned about capital funding issues and rising debt amidst a difficult economic environment. Adding to the concern is Congress\’ Healthcare Reform Bill. Many healthcare organizations remain unsure that they can revamp their business models and implement payment reform fast enough. Credit rating agency Moody\’s told participants that this one-two punch would likely lead to many more credit downgrades for hospitals.

Fortunately, opportunities are still abound. As keynote speaker Richard Clarke noted, spending for EHR and technological infrastructure will remain high this year (see slide 11). Healthcare technology investments are seen as a powerful tool to cut costs and improve organizational efficiency. On issue after issue, leaders described their need for new solutions. For instance, at the much talked about Medicaid bundled-payment demonstration, participant Debbie Welle-Powell of Exempla Healthcare noted: \”The underbelly of making this work is administratively being able to pay the claim.\”

While healthcare CFOs clearly recognize that these solutions are necessary, they don\’t always know how to go about implementing them, particularly against the backdrop of the new legislation. As Clarke promptly noted in his opening statement: \”This year\’s ANI is a great opportunity to network with people from around the country and talk with them about what is this law, and how will it affect me.\” This highlights a need for healthcare IT firms to point out how their solutions can ease the burden of these new regulations.

One session that stood out for us this year was the discussion lead by Daniel J. Marino and James Valek from Vista Family Medicine \”Engaging Staff in EMR Implementation.\” It provided the often-missing view of the healthcare provider and the challenges that providers face in identifying, selecting and adopting new technologies such as EMR. It was eye-opening and refreshing to hear a physician describe the process of learning a whole new vocabulary and the need for healthcare technology providers to be both patient and supportive in this learning process.

The conference also clearly showed that much more communication between solution providers and financial decision makers on a more general level is needed. As Healthcare Informatics Editor-in-Chief Mark Hagland wrote in his blog, the conference highlighted the need for hospital CFOs across the country to embrace and adopt best practices and tools such as proven Revenue Cycle Management solutions. With that in mind, some companies are being very active in highlighting their value propositions.

Collecting at the point of sale was another recurring theme throughout the event. One session led by Alexian Brothers, around effective POS collection identified a number of best practices. Although some could easily be viewed as controversial (e.g. such as using mobile swipe devices to collect debt during bed rest), others, such as incentivizing staff with creative contests and having the systems available to calculate patient debt certainly resonated with NaviNet\’s own findings and recommendations.

The patient point of view was also supported by the presence of leading companies such as Intuit who demoed their Health Expense Tracker – http://healthcare.intuit.com/. We were encouraged to see that all stakeholders in the healthcare reform had their voice heard at such an important summit for our industry as HFMA.
